My friends tell me off for not being visible enough on my blog, "Where are the photos of you?", "Where is YOUR wardrobe?" And so on. So I thought I better make an 'about' section and put myself out there a bit more...
Firstly, a huge thank you for stopping by.
ShowMeYourWardrobe.com -
I started the blog towards the end of 2008, everyone around me seemed to have one so I thought, 'Right! That's it, I want a blog too!' It was as simple as that.
I'd been a stylist for about nine years at this point - lucky enough to have assisted the fashion director of Vogue and even been a fashion editor on both ELLE and In Style. I loved all the street style blogs out there but thought they were all so brilliant the world didn't need another one. Equally, I loved all the blogs where girls take photos of themselves in cool outfits, but hey, I am definitely not cool enough for that...so a blog about other people and their clothes - I am a stylist after all - it was.
The tag-line for the blog is: a sneaky peek into the wardrobes of today's creative talent. I take all the photos on the blog and (as I am sure you can tell) have a lot of fun doing it. The idea is to promote the person (I always add a link to their website/blog/twitter etc), and include their name and profession. Oh, and get some great shots for you to enjoy too.
The photography has taken over the styling recently, I must admit. I now shoot a regular ShowMeYourWardrobe slot for ELLE magazine each month, I used to shoot the weekly style page 'Natalie Hartley Wears' for The Sunday Times STYLE but she left so we don't do that page anymore. I have also shot for British Vogue, Japanese ELLE and Madame Figaro, The Daily Telegraph and collaborated on projects with Topshop, Selfridges, Maybelline, Matches and Benetton. All thanks to YOU for reading my blog and being so supportive.
I now have a photo website too: www.JackieDixonPhotography.com.
Thank you for all your support, visits and comments.
Kisses,
Jackie
